Privacy policy
This policy explains what information Have Nunchi receives when you read the site, join the newsletter, or use the Korean-name tool, and the service providers involved in those activities.
Last updated August 2, 2026
Information you provide
If you subscribe, we receive your email address and record subscription information such as the source and signup time. Newsletter contacts are managed through Amazon Simple Email Service (SES). You can unsubscribe through the link in any newsletter; unsubscribing removes the address from the Have Nunchi contact list.
Analytics and advertising
When configured, Google Analytics helps us understand visits and interactions. It may process information such as pages viewed, referring page, browser and device information, approximate location, and cookies or similar identifiers. Have Nunchi may also display Google AdSense advertising.
Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve and measure ads based on a visit to this site or other sites. Google’s advertising cookies may support personalized advertising, frequency control, and reporting. You can manage personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings and read how Google uses information from partner sites.
Korean-name tool
The editorial name chooser uses a fixed Have Nunchi catalog. If you choose the “Match my current name” mode, the given name you enter is sent to OpenRouter so a selected model can normalize its pronunciation and Hangul spelling. Those requests are sent with settings that request zero data retention and deny provider data collection. Have Nunchi does not intentionally store submitted names in a profile database.
Match results may use short-lived encrypted tokens to continue a result flow. Shared result pages use a reviewed candidate identifier and do not include the original spelling by default. Do not enter a full legal name or other sensitive information into the tool.
Technical logs
Our hosting and security providers process standard request data needed to deliver and protect the site, which can include IP address, timestamp, requested path, browser or bot user agent, and referrer. Have Nunchi also records limited path, user-agent, referrer, and timestamp data when it identifies an AI crawler or AI referral. These records are used for operations, abuse prevention, and aggregate measurement.
Service providers
Information is processed only as needed for the site by providers including:
- Vercel for website hosting and request delivery;
- Amazon Web Services for newsletter contact management and email delivery;
- Google for analytics and advertising, when enabled; and
- OpenRouter and its selected model provider for the optional name-matching feature.
These providers process data under their own terms and privacy practices. Information may also be disclosed if required by law, to protect the service and its users, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.
Retention and your choices
Newsletter information is kept while you remain subscribed. Analytics, advertising, and hosting records follow the applicable provider and account retention settings. We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose described, security, legal obligations, or dispute resolution.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser, use Google’s advertising controls, avoid the optional name matcher, and unsubscribe from email. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of certain personal information.
Children and international processing
Have Nunchi is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Our providers may process information in countries other than your own, where data-protection rules may differ.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the site or its providers change. The date above identifies the current version. For a privacy request or question, email hi@havenunchi.com. You can also visit the contact page.
