Have Nunchi is an independent English-language publication about Korean words, phrases, and the unwritten social rules around them. We explain what a word means, how it is actually used, and what changes when the relationship or setting changes.
What we publish
Our library combines answer-first definitions, natural Korean examples, and the cultural context a dictionary usually leaves out. That includes everyday vocabulary, slang, etiquette, names, and the social skill Koreans call nunchi: reading the room and responding without needing every cue stated aloud.
Have Nunchi is a publication, not a course or a claim that every Korean person behaves the same way. Culture describes patterns, not a personality test. We try to name the setting, relationship, generation, and exceptions whenever they matter.
Who it is for
